As a one of the major chains of restaurants in the country, Golden Corral Corporation asked Shook Kelley to implement new designs and concepts within the confines of an existing building.

A totally new merchandising and image plan was created for Golden Corral. Through participatory workshops with the client, Shook Kelley developed a brand strategy document to guide the process and keep the workshop participants focused and on course.
A concept designed around “freshness” and “home-cooked” food preparation.
Shook Kelley ultimately developed a concept designed around “freshness” and “home-cooked” food preparation. These ideas were reflected in the design of the food bars, layout of the restaurant, graphics and signage, including the exterior shell of the building prototype to support the conceptual direction of the project.
Shook Kelley’s “fresh” concept for Golden Corral soon won national attention with the fresh market prototype, and solidified the restaurant’s successful position in the marketplace for affordable family dining to this day.
