PCBC, a west coast homebuilding tradeshow, was struggling to weather the storm of the “great recession” that had a significant impact on the housing industry. Hosting three conferences with different audiences and agendas throughout the year, PCBC came to Shook Kelley with the task of finding ways to survive, let alone thrive, during this challenging time.
Shook Kelley conducted a deep dive interrogative into the organization’s structure, purpose and approach, which unearthed some “sacred cows” and issues to confront in order to find a new future. The organization clearly recognized these truths and immediately shifted its focus to become a new guiding voice and inspiration for the homebuilding industry, resulting in increased attendance and a more cause-driven, engaged membership.
